(Sniff, sniff) What\u2019s that smell? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopefully it\u2019s summer. And with the scents, sounds and sun of the season also (usually) comes sizable cinematic celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While there aren\u2019t as<\/em>\nmany titles this summer that have me super jazzed there are a handful that have\npiqued my curiosity. So, slather on the sunscreen, grab a glass of lemonade and\nenjoy some insight (and quips) on the summer flicks about which I\u2019m most\nexcited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AVENGERS: ENDGAME<\/strong>
When it\u2019s out:<\/strong>April 26
What it\u2019s about:<\/strong> With the universe in peril and its fate in question the Avengers once again assemble to try to repair the damage done in the franchise\u2019s previous installment.
Why I\u2019m pumped:<\/strong> Take a peek at the cast list; in some form or another everyone is here \u2013 everyone! If this follow-up to last year\u2019s \u201cInfinity War<\/a>\u201d truly is the end, it looks to be one immense and intense final bow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BOOKSMART
When it\u2019s out:<\/strong> May 24
What it\u2019s about: <\/strong>Two smarty pants seniors, regretting the academic paths they took throughout high school, attempt to stuff four years of bad decisions and missed opportunities into the night before graduation.
Why I\u2019m pumped:<\/strong> I think Kaitlyn Dever is hilarious, and after seeing the red band trailer<\/a> for this movie, I\u2019m sold. \u201cBooksmart\u201d looks to be comparable to \u201cSuperbad,\u201d and any movie with a tag line like \u201cgetting straight As; giving zero Fs\u201d \u2013 I mean, just take my ticket money already! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2
When it\u2019s out:<\/strong> June 7
What it\u2019s about: <\/strong>It’s another look at what Max (voiced by Patton Oswalt), Chloe (Lake Bell) and their animal pals do when their owners are away.
Why I\u2019m pumped:<\/strong> Its predecessor<\/a> purr-fectly honored the species-and breed-specific quirks, and I want to see more. And as a mom to four fur kids, I always wonder what my pets do when I\u2019m not home (probably nap; that\u2019s what I would do).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL
When it\u2019s out:<\/strong> June 14
What it\u2019s about: <\/strong>Alien attacks are a global issue, of course, so this fourth flick in the franchise follows London-based Agent H (Chris Hemsworth) and Agent M (Tessa Thompson) as they travel the globe to internationally battle intergalactic baddies.
Why I\u2019m pumped:<\/strong> Loved the first \u201cMen in Black\u201d (who didn\u2019t?!?), so I want to see if No. 4 is as enjoyable at No. 1 \u2013 or as forgettable as\u2026 the ones I don\u2019t remember. Maybe it was the flashy thing? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TOY STORY 4
\nWhen it\u2019s out:<\/strong> June 21
\nWhat it\u2019s about: <\/strong>A new face joins\nBuzz (voiced by Tim Allen), Woody (Tom Hanks) and the rest of the toy crew for\nnew adventures and shenanigans.
\nWhy I\u2019m pumped:<\/strong> Because Pixar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YESTERDAY
\nWhen it\u2019s out:<\/strong> June 28
\nWhat it\u2019s about: <\/strong>Imagine (heh) that\nno one except you has heard of the Beatles. That\u2019s exactly what happens when\nJack (Himesh Patel) awakens after a bizarre power outage. Playing the band\u2019s\nnever-before-heard songs could be his ticket to ride \u2013 err, I mean success.
\nWhy I\u2019m pumped:<\/strong> Forget that this\nidea is crazy fresh; this flick is directed by Danny Boyle and no doubt will be\nchock full of Beatles tunes \u2013 and that\u2019s a world in which I want to immerse myself\nfor two hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM\nHOME
\nWhen it\u2019s out:<\/strong> July 5
\nWhat it\u2019s about: <\/strong>Peter Parker\u2019s (Tom\nHolland) summer Euro trip is anything but relaxing, as he must don the Spidey\nsuit to face a foe across the pond.
\nWhy I\u2019m pumped:<\/strong> It\u2019s another big-action\nMarvel adventure, which means it\u2019s sure to entertain, amuse and wow audiences\ninto seeing it again (at least twice). And Holland is an amazing<\/em> Spider-Man (see what I did there??)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE LION KING
When it\u2019s out:<\/strong> July 19
What it\u2019s about: <\/strong>Hakuna Matata! This live-action journey tells the Simba-centric tale with which we all fell in love in 1994.
Why I\u2019m pumped:<\/strong> Looking forward to seeing how director Jon Favreau delivers this beloved Disney story, since I was really impressed with his 2016 live-action adaptation of \u201cThe Jungle Book<\/a>.\u201d Plus, how adorable is that lion cub? Get outta here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
